Geocache Description:

On a former island created by an oxbow. This site is dedicated to the proposition that a straight line is not always the shortest route between two points.

Do not get your feet wet when going to this site. This site is dedicated to the proposition that a straight line is not always the shortest route between two points. Those familiar with post glacial Michigan geology will know the best route intuitively. Others will have to learn as they go.

The site is in a beautiful part of the Manistee National Forest along the Big Manistee River. Canoe access is almost too simple, one should not be able to count finding this if you come in by canoe, but you can. Should not count if you get wet feet on your way in/out either. One can walk to it, and that is the true adventure. Because this one is hard to get to by land, please help maintain this cache in good condition.
