Beaver Dam Cache Traditional Cache
Rabbit 282: I'm archiving this cache. When I have the time I'll plant another cache in Beaver Dam so that more people can share the place. If you'd like to preempt me with a cache of your own, feel free.

Beaver Dam State Park is located outside Carlinville, IL. Take Shipman Road (also known as Alton Road) and the park will easily be found. There is ample parking at the lake and restaurant (39 12.616, 089 58.526) or closer to the cache (39 12.894, 089 58.276). The trails are an easy hike with some amount of grade, but the cache is probably not wheelchair accessible. The trail winds around but comes within 30 feet of the cache on the north side so go easy on the bushwhacking.
I grew up with this state park in my back yard. It has a beautiful mix of wetlands, woodlands, and lake… lands? Anyway, the park has recently been renovated with a brand new restaurant, docks, bait shop, fish cleaning facilities, restroom facilities, and a whole lot of camping spots (with facilities). Bring your fishing gear and camping gear or at least an appetite. Make sure you stroll the trails at the very least.
The cache is a clear plastic jar. Cache contains: trinkets and goo-gags (what do you want from me?), log book and pencil
The cache has been placed with the permission of the Beaver Dam State Park Superintendent (this is their first experience with caching, so if you get a chance tell them how much you appreciate their support). Please make sure that no food items (or items that have any food smells) are placed in the cache. The park can be reached by phone at (217) 854-8020
