First in a series to get your feet onto the Pacific Crest
Trail
PCT 1 is located about halfway into the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT)
between the Mexican Border and Morena Reservoir.
It'll be a full 20 mile day hike, or you can camp along trail and
make it in two days.
Check out Roamin' Joe on the PCT at

My caches are easy to find, I just ask that you "Get Out
There!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The above cache description is the original description provided
by roaminjoe, the original hider of this cache. I replaced the
muggled cache on Feb 5, 2007, and accepted adoption.
If you'd like to take a shorter hike to the cache, park at the end
of Hauser Creek Rd, but do not block the gate nor any of the local
residents' right of way. Follow the dirt road around the bend for
about a hundred feet and head west to N32 39.399 W116
31.824. You should be able to spot the trail due south and
straight up the mountain. There is some zig-zagging in the middle
but you should hit the PCT at N32 38.931 W116 31.684.
Elevation gain will be about 700 feet and 3.4 miles roundtrip. The
trail is overgrown in areas; you will be low-crawling, boulder
climbing and bushwhacking. You should be OK with shorts, but your
torso will be making alot of contact with overgrowing
branches.
The cache is on the ground in a cubby created by a flat'ish
2X3-foot rock.
I will quote roaminjoe, "Get Out There!"
