This cache was designed to introduce you to the trail system at Reed’s Gap State Park. There are three main hiking trails in the park, and this multi-cache will take you on parts of all three of them. There are many interesting things to see while hiking the park, be sure to take the time to look around. I saw many different forms of wildlife while planning and placing this cache. The coordinates listed above are the parking coordinates. They are for the pool parking area. Pick a convenient spot and begin your journey by walking past the pool and to the stream. Cross the bridge and follow the red-blazed Honey Creek trail down stream. Stay on the trail until you are very close to the coordinates for stage one. Stage one is an Altoids tin that has been painted to blend in a little better with it’s surroundings. Again, take the time to look around while you are doing this cache. Stage 1 coordinates: N40 43.144 W077 28.784 Each stage will include the coordinates for the next stage, and what trail the stage is located near. Follow the trail system, until you get as close as possible before heading off trail. The stages are located relatively close to the trails. Note: All stages are located inside the boundaries of Reed’s Gap State Park. One of the trails is along the edge of the park’s boundary. There are NO TRESSPASSING signs on the private property outside the park. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO THERE, stay on trail and in the park. You can download a PDF map of the park from this page.
