There is nothing at the coordinates at the top of this page. The armchair method is the only way to determine the cache coordinates.
The original cache required you to go to the coordinates and find a two-digit number “X” then use the equations below to determine the final coordinates. Mathematically not every value of “X” is allowable so out of 100 possible two-digit numbers (00 through 99) only seven are real possibilities.
You can determine the cache coordinates from the information provided on this cache sheet combined with logic and intuition. You mathematicians (and you know who you are) can have a field day with this but the average person can easily arrive at the correct coordinates using deduction, logic, cunning and some arithmetic.
When you log this cache on the web site please indicate which method, traditional are armchair, you used to determine the cache coordinates.
Equations:
Y = 16 * X + 35772
Z = 82 * X + 26593
(The asterisk means multiply. Example: 2 * 4 = 8)
Let ABCDE be the digits of Y and FGHJK the digits of Z.
The cache coordinates are:
N 38: AB.CDE
W90: FG.HJK
Check your answer by summing all the digits of Y and Z (A + B + C + D + E + F + G + H + J + K). If your sum has more than one digit add those digits together to produce a new sum. Repeat until your sum is only one digit. If your Y and Z are correct the result will be 2.
Example:
If Y = 37286 and Z = 25752 (they do not) then the coordinates would be:
N 38: 37.286
W 90: 25.752
