Located in beautiful downtown Auke Bay on gravel and boardwalk trail system. The trailheads are behind the Auke Bay Elementary School either through the playground or from the far left of the parking lot running along the playground's fence.
Cache is a plastic snap-lock type container with cool swag for kids. Please hide it well so it isn't visible when around the curve in the trail.
This area is great for star gazing. If you have a telescope, bring it with for nighttime viewing. The northern lights are spectacular in the winter as there are limited surrounding lights to contend with. I suggest you bring loud kids, bells or whatever with you as there is lots of skunk cabbage and blueberries in the area. We saw no bear sign, but play it on the safe side. Cache History: The cache was originally placed by Super Dave403, Geoboy and Geo Jr. in June of 2003. Nanuk of the North adopted the cache in July of 2007 when they moved down south. Moved the cache to a drier about 30' from original location in 2021.
