Geocache Description:

Come take a tour of Purvis, MS. This is a multi-stage mini-cache, final container is a small "tuppermade" container. You'll need a pen & paper and maybe a calculator if you’re mathematically challenged (like me).

Your tour begins at the seat of government of Lamar County, find the date this building was built, write this down there will be a test.

Head South on Main Street to the Old Version of this building and find the date the ubiquitous Masons laid the corner stone.

Go next door and pay your thanks to the Veterans at the Lamar County War Memorial, find the date this monument was dedicated.

Turn right at the end of Main Street onto Shelby Speights and find the local Mason’s lodge F&AM # what?

Find the founder of Purvis at

N 31º 08.603
W089º 24.615

How old he was when he died? Don’t worry you’re almost done.

Final cache is a small ‘tuppermade’ container (which I thought was cheap and unused because it has been empty in the storage room for years but my wife got upset because it’s now a cache) containing a few improvised items, sorry I had planned on this being a 35mm sign in only cache.

N 31º 08.ABC
W 089º 24.DEF

ABC=((the year the old courthouse was built minus the lodge number minus the age of Mr. Purvis at his death) divided by 2) minus 66. ((x-y-z)/2)-66.

DEF=the year the new courthouse was built minus the year the war memorial was built times 48. (x-y)48.
