Parking Coordinates: N47 44.728 W121 54.463 (on NE Cherry Valley Road)

Hike length: located about .70 miles in, along an old logging road

This is the second in our series of "tribute" caches, hidden on the way to a special geocaching adventure at the much-loved Cherry Cache. If you continue on the trail, taking a few turns along the way, you'll find Cherry Cache II by Evergreenhiker. We highly recommend that you continue on for his 5.5 mile roundtrip hike with a wonderful surprise at the end. What is written above is the original description from June of 2003, and the reference to "walking along an old logging road", yea that's how I remember it. Heck I remember when you could drive back here, pack a lunch and have a picnic with no one else around. Even at the falls on a nice day it would be unlikely that there would be anyone else around And if you drove in far enough there was an old campground, the Elwell Campground... Now long gone. Closed in the late 80's I think, and later logged to oblivion there are no traces left. Now on a nice day there is car after car many of which are questionably parked, in order to "hike" on what is really just an abandoned logging road, to some falls which once were a hidden secret of the area. So much has changed.... There are 2 surviving on the way series caches, this cache and GCHBYR on the way #4. The others were long ago archived.
