August 23, 2005: goldfishy e-mailed me to say that he lost his sunglasses while searching for the final stage of the cache. Please keep your eye out for them!

2003 ChiTown Picnic Cachers: Look for the stamp that is shaped like a marker and identified as "picnic stamp."
Come for the cache and stay (or return) for the rest of what this park has to offer. This is an extremely kid friendly place where the whole family should find something of interest. Please note the hours of operation:
Tuesday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 10:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday Noon - 4:00pm



Parking is available at N41° 52.172 / W088° 21.764 Sorry, but dogs are not allowed in the park. Sorry Dairy and Penny!

The listed coordinates are for your first stop. From here you will gather the coordinates for the actual cache location.


Upon arrival at the posted coordinates, enter the structure and start your climb to the top. Make note of the following:



2-digit number that is the number of steps (excluding the levels) to the top. Result is AB.

1-digit number that is the number of levels. Result is C.

2-digit number that is the scout troup named on the top level. Result is DE.



The final cache coordinates are at N41° (B+D)1.(B+C+D)1(C) W088° (B)1.(A+D)BC. Go ahead and enter the coordinates in your GPSr and use your vantage point to plan out reaching the actual cache. There is no nead to do any bushwacking or to leave the trail until you are within 5 feet of the cache. Keep an eye out for muggles as this is a popular place on nice days.
