Geocache Description:

Located on a little used trail in Colorado Bend State Park. Texas State Parks require an entry fee unless you have a TPW Passport. .54 Miles round trip from the upper trailhead.

The cache is in an Ammo can on a hillside overlooking the colorado river valley and the hillsides accross the river. The terrain is not bad from the upper trailhead of the Spicewood Springs trail. The problem lies in the fact that the trail is almost impossible to see. You can find the upper trail head at N31 01.470 W98 27.050. Trust me, it is really there between two small cedar trees. Even though it is starting to overgrow, if you look carefully you will see the parallel ruts made by park vehicles on the trail. There are no trail markings on the trail so using your track log is essential. Cache is not hidden, we decided to rely on the remoteness of the location to keep it safe. Tree cover is minimal at the cache site and satellite accuracy was around 13 feet so the coordinates should put you close. I hope you enjoy the view from here.

Cache was placed with the knowledge and approval of the park staff.

Important Note:
In our strong desire to show our continuing support for our state parks, ALL geocachers must go to the park office and pay the entrance fee or show them your Texas Conservation Passport in order to log this cache! Please include the name of the ranger on duty in your log. By doing so, we will help geocaching continue to be a readily accepted use of Texas State Parks by parks management.
WE SUPPORT OUR STATE PARKS!
