Box at the Locks Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

John NW: Went to visit today and no access to the cache - there is a film crew and a massive bird hide - it must be 20 foot high filming some rare bird - (I thought the cache had grown like Jack's Beanstalk) I asked the Waterboard worked re the bridge and it will be at least another year before it is up and running so I am archiving this cache - thanks for everyone who visited. John

Geocache Description:

This is an unusual cache hidden on an island access is either by boat or bridge or two locks

This cache is dedicated to my dad - who would have loved geocaching - when I was a baby and in a pram my dad brought me here, and then reinacted the bumping over the locks when I was a nipper. So it has fond memories for me. It has been improved lately with lots of paths and benches and waste bins (although we think the locals need to be taught what they are for!!) The cache has been replaced on 24/07/06 , under some fallen trees. Please be careful rehiding it as it is quite busy with anglers and even swimmers!!. There are lovely walks around here including the River Weaver Walk, and good views of the Arches. Nearby there is a nature reserve - where Shooting is not allowed nor motorbikes for that matter. Fond memories of cross country as well for me around here!!
