Geocache Description:

The Grey Creek Pass is traversable from April to November by car. Care must be exercised to avoid the sharp rocks and the traffic on the climb to the 6500 foot level.

The cache is located at a popular picnic and campsite in an alpine basin with a small shallow lake, high in the Purcell Mountains. It is possible to access the alpine ridges in the area. There is lots of room to park. Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it.

We went over the pass shortly after it was completed in the late 1980s in our K-car at the time. Today the 88 kilometer road from Grey Creek to Marysville is in better condition than it was then. Watch for signs to direct you over the pass. Some of the scenery is pretty spectacular.

The name of the cache will give you a strong clue as to what the cache is located in and you will recognize it immediately upon seeing it a few metres off the main footpath and out of sight of the casual passerby.

Original contents include a couple of neat dogs, a porcelain bank . . . money not included, a Rumpelstiltskin needle, other odds and ends . . . I've forgotten, and of course the log book and pencils.
