Geocache Description:

****WATCH OUT FOR BLACK WIDOW SPIDERS (read the logs)****

Our family loves soccer. Both FlagSon Evan and FlagSon Andrew have been playing soccer since they were about 5 and FlagMan has coached their Scripps Ranch Soccer Club (“SRSC”) rec teams for years. They are now both on different SRSC competitive teams, and FlagMan manages Evan’s Boys Under 13 (“BU13”) team. This weekend was the Crusader’s Cup held in Mira Mesa. Andrew’s BU12 team has been registered for quite some time and his manager was out of town so FlagMan was filling in as manager of that team for the weekend. Then, two days before the tournament, the organizers called and said that there was a cancellation in the BU13 bracket and wanted to know if Evan’s team could play. So now we have two teams in the tournament with FlagMan managing both. Six games in two days. And the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Black Mountain Road was a complete disaster with repairs and re-paving going on Saturday. Very high temperatures as well. Lots of bottles of water were consumed!

Although neither team did remarkably well, it was a great weekend of soccer. The BU12 team had two losses and a tie and the BU13 team had two losses and a win. To commemorate the weekend, we hid a cache at the field where the only win was recorded. The cache was originally filled with good swag (see image of original cache contents), but went missing and was replaced on 4/10/05. It is now an altoids tin hidden in the "spectator area." It should be easily found.

Happy Hunting!
