Brandenburg Gate Traditional Cache
Balla & Silly: Meanwhile the cache got stolen. Because of ongoing complaints about the dirt in that area we won't replace it any more. If we find a better place near the Brandenburg Gate we start a new cache.

The Brandenburg Gate was commissioned by Friedrich Wilhelm
II to represent peace. The Gate was designed by Karl Gotthard
Langhans, the Court Superintendent of Buildings, and the main
architectural design of this landmark hasn't changed since it was
first constructed in 1791. Ironically the gate was incorporated
into the Berlin wall during the years of Communist government. The
Brandenburg gate is probably the most well-known landmark in
Berlin, it now stands as a symbol of the reunification of the two
sides of this great city.
A bit less than 1.000 ft. away we have hidden the cache beneath
some shrubbery, covered with leaves. The coords aren’t too well
there but it’s not very hard to find. This cache is laid out
especially for visitors of Berlin. (And also for Berliners, of
course!)

Das Brandenburger Tor wurde von Friedrich Wilhelm II in
Auftrag gegeben, um Frieden zu repräsentieren. Das Tor wurde von
dem Ober-Baurat Karl Gotthard Langhans erschaffen und die
hauptsächliche architektonische Gestaltung dieses Wahrzeichens hat
sich nicht geändert, seit es zuerst im Jahre 1791 konstruiert
wurde. Ironischerweise wurde das Tor während der Jahre der
kommunistischen Regierung von der Berliner Mauer eingeschlossen.
Das Brandenburger Tor ist wohl das bekannteste Wahrzeichen Berlins,
wobei es inzwischen als Symbol der Wiedervereinigung der zwei
Seiten dieser großartigen Stadt gilt.
Ungefähr 320 m entfernt haben wir den Cache unter etwas Strauchwerk
versteckt und mit Laub bedeckt. Die Koordinaten sind dort nicht
allzu gut, aber er ist auch nicht sehr schwer zu finden. Dieser
Cache wurde besonders für Besucher von Berlin ausgelegt. (Und für
Berliner natürlich auch!)
