Geocache Description:

Gibson Cave is a place where native americans stayed for shelter and a spot to cook their food. You can still see the black smoke stains on the ceiling of the cave which resulted from their fires. It was also used by a Heppner man, named Gibson, who worked in the area and stayed in the cave. It is an interesting place in history and that is why we decided to place this cache here. The easy 1 mile trail to the cave is well maintained and only takes 15 minutes to hike to the cave. After reaching the interpretive board at the cave you will need to work your way around the north side of the cave. The cache is in an ammo can. Original contents are:
Aviation guide
angelica doll
dog chain
puzzle toy
magnet
paper clip
razor knife
shotgun shell
button
rock
car

Parking coordinates are 45 10.002 N 119 19.978 W
