Geocache Description:

At altitude 8,753 feet above sea level. In the 4WD recreation area on the knolls above Mammoth Lakes. This is a great spot to come and take a sunset.
This is an off-set cache. You can get the coordinates to the actual cache which lies just .07 away by visiting the coordinates above. Just lift up the WELCOME sign to get the coordinates. Placement of this cache was supervised by Snoogans and the coordinates of the off-set and the cache have been triple checked.

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE COORDINATES LISTED. THE CACHE IS OFF-SET BY .07.

This cache is dedicated to our two beloved cats Alice and Coon. Alice died at the ripe old age of 20 on June 13, 2003. Coon disappeared on September 23, 2000 at the ripe old age of 18. Coon was probably the victim of a coyote.
Alice is buried about 100 feet from the cache. The view of the town and surrounding mountains is spectacular.

4WD is not always needed. Clearance is probably the only issue. We would suggest either, high clearance vehicles, 4WD, dirt bike or enduro, or just hike it. Bring lots of water. No streams up here.
