On the Lolo Trail requiring a minimum of 12 miles (one way) gravel/dirt and somewhat steep roads to cache site.
If you are traveling the Lolo Trail or would like to, here's a cache for you. A Forest Service permit is required to travel the Trail. However, it is free and can be obtained at any Forest Service office. The closest and fastest route in from Highway 12 is to turn off between mileposts 153 and 154 on Road 566. You can also reach the site by traveling the Saddle Camp Road (107) between mileposts 139 and 140. You can use both routes to make a loop.
Cache should be easy to find once you are in the area. (See spoiler picture.) And you will be treated to a spectacular view.
