Medical cache off of Yellow Trail on the lake. Easy day walk for the family. Green Ammo Box.
10-26-03: Checked on Cache since two people claimed they couldn't find it. Coordinates within 20ft, but altered to be within 4 feet.
Also, cache was covered in leaves from the fall foliage dropping. I improved the hint to help in finding it.
This cache is the first of many first aid caches on Oak Mountain's trails. No need to leave anything if you really must take something. That's the point of the cache! Keep me posted on the cache...let me know if it is getting low.
You'll pass two caches if you take the yellow trail to get there, but the terrain difficulty goes up to a 2.5 if you do that.
Taking the white trail will pass you by the Maggies Glenn cahce, and if you hop over onto the yellow trail, you'll only be a 25 minute hike from the cache.
I think of this short hike as the most beautiful hike on Oak Mountain, past Maggie's Glenn. Total hiking time out is 1 hour, and there are plenty of stops along the way that you'll enjoy. Also, if you are at the lake campsite, this cache is only about 10 minutes away!
