Geocache Description:

Exchange your interesting or unusual rocks for ones you don't have to help complete you collection

I got this idea from Yellow Alligator. I dug up some crystals and didn't know what they were. She told me it was gypsum and suggested this cache as a rock exchange. I have placed a 1 gallon sized "Crunch & Munch" tin full of some of the various gypsum crystals, opals, petrified wood, opalized wood, jasper, and agates that I have stored in cans waiting to be tumbled at Odessa Crater trails. This is a 1 1/2 mile loop around two craters, the Ampitheater and the Cinnamon Roll. The trail is very primative and at some times, not marked. The path goes over and around basalt formations with steep drop offs. This isn't one for little ones! Watch your step as this is rattlesnake country! Have fun, take some great pictures, and be safe. While you are in the area, check out the nearby Cache Crater (1/4 mile up the road with a 1/4 mile gravel path), the Lakeview Recreation Park (operated by BLM) with nearby Lakeview Ranch Crater. Six miles away, you can see the Odessa Towers (really buttes). A map can be seen here if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader :http://www.or.blm.gov/Spokane/recreation/internet/lakeview_b-w.pdf
