This virtual cache is located on the Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone. Shoshone is the largest lake in the lower 48 without road access and is an amazing place. Reaching this cache site is its own reward both physically and intrinsically. I spent 3 days in the backcountry and paddled 37 miles total. Non-motorized boat is definitely the best means to reach this cache. Launch in Lewis Lake and travel the channel upstream (the only stretch of river open boating in Yellowstone) to Shoshone, some portaging of your boat will probably be necessary. I suppose it is possible by foot but would be a very difficult and long hike. To claim this cache just email me the backcountry campsite number that it is located in or a picture would be even better.
