Geocache Description:

Yes, you do need a boat.

I have replaced the cache, just a little closer to the water. Be aware that its “cover” is very fragile, so please take care when finding the cache and returning it to its hiding spot. I placed a few new trinkets and a log sheet but you still need to bring a pen or pencil.

Also be aware that swimmers itch, from the water in the lake, has been noted by several of the cachers.

This cache was placed on the last day of vacation. During this last weekend, we forgot a fly rod at the north launch and when we returned to retrieve it, it was gone. And then I stepped on my new fly rod and broke it. We decided we needed to end the vacation on a positive note so we created this cache. You will need a boat to find it. You could possibly use a rubber raft but you will need to stand on it to retrieve the cache. Please be careful to leave the cache 'stand' without any new marks on it.

The cache is located in a Skagit County Park, Grandy Lake. I have included in the cache enough money to pay for one night of camping in the park, a couple of flies for fishing, a fish eraser, 4 foam dinosaurs (that you put in water to make grow), a super ball, 4 Quarters, the fact sheet and a sheet for logging your visit. You will need to take a pen or pencil, as there was not room in the cache. I will stop by occasionally and leave more camping fees.

Enjoy the lake. It is one we have gone to for years, from before it became a developed county park. We used to ride horses down to the lake and play in the water with them. I doubt if it would be allowed now. Every camp had dogs though.

During the summer, the lake is very calm in the early morning and late evening. During the day, the wind blows quite strong and the lake may have white caps. You might take this into consideration when hunting for the cache.
