Geocache Description:

This cache is in an empty lot in Waldport, OR. The land is private, but there is a path running through it that is OK to walk on. Enter from the road (Oceana) toward the ocean.

We have permission to hide and seek this cache on this land. (Tonton Gustav owns the land)

The container is now a BRIGHT ORANGE box on the ground

Keep an eye out for Gertie and Bob. If you see them, you have gone too far.

---------------------

Recently, Tonton Gustav was asked to discuss the origins of his nick name. This is his explanation:

I will attempt to fight the urge to use my lousy French babble to explain that:

Tonton Gustav was the self chosen nick-name of the step uncle for a French young woman . Some how he came up with that name as a special name just for that step niece. I don't know if he or she chose a special name for her. I met him and he was a true"Tonton Gustav". Friendly, laughing, kidding enjoying being with all his relatives. Maybe a bit of the Frank Miller type. One couldn't help liking him. I believe , tho I have quite forgotten, that his English was as scant as that of most Frenchmen living in Bordeaux. That is, not in Paris or along the English North nor the German East. He was married to the daughter of a woman who had worked for years for the family of the "step niece". That woman was the widow of a French soldier who was killed in the First World War not too long after the young couple got married (maybe 1915). Of course the young widow was expecting (or, as one might have said at that time, "in a family way"). so the young widow was given work in the family home rather than the harsh work in the fields. she ended up not only raising her own daughter, but was the caretaker, maid, au pair, governess, step-mother, or auntie of all of the main family's kids born from about 1925 to 1939. so all of the main family treated her (the WW I widow)as a dear aunt. And the daughter, who eventually married Tonton, was a dear sister.

So, there you have it. The complete history (as I know it) of Tonton Gustav I!!!
Merci pour votre patience, Tonton Gustav II"
