Traditional Cache in the Arapaho National Forest near a point of the Meadow Creek Reservoir.
We placed this cache while on vacation. Please help us maintain it as we will only be back once a year or so.
The cache is located approx 9 miles from Highway 40. Look for Grand County Highway 83 and follow signs to Meadow Creek Reservoir.
There is a $5 fee to enter this part of the forest.
Caution parts of the road are very rocky and may not be passable by lower riding cars. (We were OK in a 2 wheel drive SUV). Also, note the cache is hidden at over 10,000 ft. above sea level.
Park at N40.03.392; W105.45.125. It is an easy quarter mile hike through a heavily wooded area - please stay on the trails. There are several trails to choose from so pay attention to your GPS. On the way, you will pass a great view of the Reservoir. The cache is well hidden and is only about 15 ft. off the trail in an area surrounded by primitive camp sites. Please tread lightly as you leave the trails and be respectful if campers are near by.
Original contents include: yo yo, rubber smiley face ball, whistle, Bone shot glass, Kush ball, Elsie the Cow, necklace, keychain, and logbook.
