A pleasant walk in a beautiful part of Switzerland. From Castasegna on the Swiss/Italian border to Soglio (or vice-versa!). A walk with beautiful views - take your camera!
Our first cache is on the "Chemin de la tour" an ancient footpath that runs between Soglio and Castasegna. You can either start the walk from Soglio at N046.020.672 E009.032.243 which is near a parking place and is the easiest (as you will be going downhill) or from Castasegna at N046.020.240 E009.031.256 in which case you should park in the village and walk up to "Brenten" to start. Either direction should take around 1 to 1.5 hours to walk.
The walk is an official footpath and is signposted. There is some tree coverage and GPS signals are sometimes weak. If this is the case, stay on the footpath, the cache is right there!
You will find our cache in the forest near a "Cascine" (a mountain hut, used for storing hay) which is close to a ruined "Cascine". The cache is hidden in a dry stone wall at the foot of the standing "Cascine", behind a rock which is marked with an "X" chalked on it. To help you, we placed a white quartz stone above the rock that should be removed to reveal our cache (see pictures - warning! They contain spoilers).
