They ain’t nuthin’ quite as satisfying as signing a log book after a challenging hunt, with them pesky mosquitoes and little biting black flies swarming around you trying to fly up your nose and in your ears.
If your idea of satisfaction is like mine, this is the cache for you! This cache was inspired by my late friend, Donad_D’s Flat Tire cache. Last year when I found it, I was truly amazed by the amount of mosquitoes attracted to me at the cache, I swore I’d find a spot with even more mosquitoes per square inch, then were present at his cache. After closely studying many topo, satellite, and bugology maps, I narrowed it down to several prime spots. This wasn’t one of them, I only stumbled upon it by accident. On our journey to find the perfect mosquito breeding grounds, the sticky stuff on the back side of the duct tape holding our cardboard replacement rear window on our old SUV succumbed to the heat of the day and the vibrations of the gravel road above Nordman. The faster I went, the more dust came rolling through that open back window and hung in a dark cloud toward the front passenger compartment, obscuring my view of Sally, sitting a few feet to the right of me. Although I couldn’t actually see her, I could tell she was also really challenged with this adventure by some of the descriptive phrases she was yelling over at me. We passed a handful of lesser challenging, but in her opinion “better” caches along the way to my intended hiding spot. By the time we were only half way to my spot, I noticed we had used up the last of the bald spare tires I had tied onto the roof of the ol’ SUV. A short distance later we heard the now familiar BOOM of another blow out, and I began my journey back to civilization. I had a major decision to make. 27.2 miles by road or 21.7 miles cross country. I, of course, opted for cross country approach. Where this cache is hidden was so full of mosquitoes I couldn’t get hardly any satellites talking to my GPS, so my coordinates were pretty spotty. I would suggest you print out the spoiler pictures before attempting this one or you may end up being a stark raving, blood soaked, welt covered maniac, like me, before ever finding the cache. Good luck, have fun…Wiz
