This cache site is truly one of best vistas in all of San Diego County. Located on the grounds of Scripps Institution of Oceanography near several old cottages, one can enjoy the well-placed benches (great picnic area), flowers & plants in the garden and watch the surfers below.
As you can might imagine, this area is very popular for weddings and other types of receptions. Usuallly this area is very deserted, but if there is an event going on (typically on Fri., Sat. & Sun. during the Summer months), it can be full of Muggles. .
Deciding where to park for this cache can be a little tricky. There are parking stalls within 100 feet of this cache, but like with most Universities areas, I strongly suggest reading the parking restriction signs and park at your own risk.
Your GPS might be a bit jumpy in this area. The decrypted hint might be very helpful. Despite what your GPS may specify, you do NOT need to climb over the cliff fence to find this cache.
The cache container is a smaller small and think magnetic.
