Cache is on the site of the Sehmel Homestead which has recently been turned over as public land to develop HOMESTEAD PARK. See www.homesteadpark.org for more information.
I've made a trip to the cache in shorts/sandals, but, long pants are strongly recommended.
Have fun and enjoy, however, PLEASE RESPECT ANY STRUCTURES ON THE PROPERTY; THIS LAND WAS JUST RECENTLY TURNED OVER TO THE PUBLIC.
THIS CACHE MAY CONTINUE TO CHANGE AS NEW TRAILS ARE DEVELOPED. The coordinates above are to the top of a driveway. The driveway is currently blocked by a chain that was installed by Pierce County Parks Department to prevent vehicle access. Pedestrian access is still allowed. Park at the driveway or next to the road (there's a curve in the road nearby that has a good parking place...a little bit of a walk). You might also want to take a look at Homestead Park #2. Proceed down the driveway to the LOW point, Then, proceed to Checkpoint #1.
Checkpoint #1 - N47' 21.059 x W122' 38.359. You are looking for a round Altoids can with two sets of numbers. #1 set is for THIS cache. #2 set is for Homestead Park #2.
Checkpoint #2 - Using the coordinates from above, you are now looking for a small altoids can.
Checkpoint #3 - You are now looking for the cache. Use the coordinates from Checkpoint #2.
GPS may come/go. You are looking for a green ammo box.
Original contents include a large variety of items including one TB.
Total Trip in/out is less than 1/2 mile.
