My family is in the Ilwaco, WA area several times a year to go salmon fishing. This time, we left behind a cache as a fun reminder of our trip.
The original cache contents are just some junk we had laying around the camper and wanted to get rid of (we were in a hurry):
- A brochure for a wine and cheese place
- 2 heart-shaped balloon weights
- several cheesy keyrings
- A patriotic heart-shaped lapel pin
- a bobby pin
- a piece of weird-shaped plastic
The warm August day we placed the cache, the levy where the cache is hidden was really dry and the earth was cracked like puzzle-pieces. Some of the cracks were a foot deep!
The cache is located well above the waterline and the calm waters of Baker Bay so there will hopefully be no trouble with it washing away!
Posting pictures of the area with your log is always appreciated by the cache owners (who are often out of the area)!
Was there water in the levy the day you visited?
