Coronado's Trail Multi-Cache
Rattlingcrew: This one seems to have been buried in the landslide. It has a proximity issue with some newer caches in the area, including a very old virtual cache at the castle. I hate to let it go, but the traffic to this one has been very minimal.

This one requires a short walk along one of the hiking trails at Coronado Heights.
To solve this cache, go to the Salemsborg Church at Salemsborg, Kansas. At the east wall there are two entrances to the church, select the one that is in English. Look to the south of that entrance and find the plaque on the wall. It has the dates for the sod church, the frame church, the spire church and the two tower church. Add all of those dates together and subtract 764 from that number. Plug your number into N38 3X.XXX. Now add 427 to the date for the sod church and plug that number into W97 4X.XXX. You now have the necessary coordinates to complete this cache.
Coronado is always a favorite for those who visit. Most do not realize that there are some hiking trails in the park. To access this cache, park at the peak and walk towards the outhouses. Ignore the odor, it will not last long!
The trail drops over the ridge north of the outhouses and curves around the hill. Lately there have been a load of bicycles on the trail so you may want to watch for them. The walking is a little rough at first as you walk down the slope, the rocks are pretty loose under foot. Walk west and south along the trail until the GPS points towards the crest of the hill. Try not to stomp the grass down too much going in and out as it will make a trail to the cache eventually. The park is a busy one, so at least try to be a little secretive if possible.
The cache has some game pieces and a few Hot Wheels in it. A Geo Cache Sheet, log book and three ink pens. Look as you walk and see if you can spot any of the many varieties of lizards that call the hill home. The container is a standard SASO362 approved ammocan, replacing the reported to be wet original container, which was a water jug. The cache was dry, but water jugs tend to sweat off and on with temperature change. The park is free, but has a curfew from sunrise to sunset. This would be pretty spooky in the dark anyway. Have fun!
