This cache can be reached by walking a gravel bike path up to the last 20 feet or so to the cache. NOTE: 9-4 Mother Nature decided the final last bit needed to be harder thus she decided to do some rearranging in the immediate vacinity of the cache. Thus the differnt ratings of the difficulty and terrain.
This cache is located at the Hennepin Canal Parkway Complex area. It is approxiamtely 1 mile south of I-80 on Route 40 or about a mile north of the the intersection of Routes 6 and 40. Turn west to the complex, park at 41. 22.908N 089.41.445W. take a leasurly 15-20 minute walk east on the old tow path which is now a gravel bike/walking path to the cache.
While there, you may want to visit the Complex building to see the exhibits, get history on the canal and to sign the visitors book. It is open M-F 8-4, S-S & Holidays 10-4. You can also have a picnic, let the kids play, fish, canoe, hike, ride your bikes.
You may want to bring your camera, we saw a turtle, a muskrat, an egret and several geese while placing the cache. The cache has the log book, some mini pop up books, dolls, cars, balls, animal coin purses, rubber stamp/ bubbles combo ink pens.
