Geocache Description:

An easy microcache, meant to be a drop off / pick up point for travel bugs for geocacher tourists of the Eiffel Tower.

This cache is a micro cache which is located in the footing of one of the pillars of the Eiffel Tower. It consists of a heavy, re-sealable plastic bag, and a log book. It is just large enough to store a few travel bugs that are relatively small. The cache is in an out of the way place, but still is in sight of one of the most trafficked areas in the world.

I can offer two suggestions for this cache :

1)  Go early in the morning (before 9:00 am), enjoy the cache and then take a trip up the tower (before the EXTREMELY long lines occur). Have breakfast on the second floor. It's absolutely incredible.

2) Pack a meal and go after dark. Enjoy a meal with the hundreds of other Parisians that will be in the park, enjoying their picnic dinners and the company of friends and loved ones.

If you cannot do either of these, then I would suggest retrieving the cache, retreating into the beautiful park behind the Pillar, making a log and retrieve / drop off a bug, then discretely return it making sure it is exactly as you found it (using the cover provided).

Please be aware of Geomuggles who may be interested in what you are doing. There is also a large population of les clochards de Paris ( the homeless of Paris) that frequent this area and may think there is something of value here.

Good Luck!

Note on cache maintenance: I make several trips per year to Europe on business, and have friends and associates in Paris. I feel that I could adequately maintain this cache even though I live in the US. If the cache needs immediate attention, I can have a friend check on it for me, and I will return to Paris in September and January.
