Ghost Rider Graveyard Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

RUSCAL: Looks like this one is a gonner. Six years is a pretty long run, so this one had a good life. RIP I'll archive it so another hider can do something in the area.

Geocache Description:

Near the top of Mount Soledad.

When I was a kid we would ride our bikes up to the top of Mount Soledad to play around up there. The place was pretty trashed back then, with broken bottles and trash strewn everywhere. There were a few very steep dirt roads going down the northeast and southeast sides which we would ride down and push the bikes back up. Great fun! on the south slope there is a narrow canyon which had a few cars wedged in it. Joy riders would push the driverless cars off the edge and watch the things careen into the canyon. (just like ghostriding your bike) My friends and I would go down and play in the wrecked cars. Also great fun! Today the cars are either over grown with brush or not there, as you can't see them any more. The trail to the cache passes to the east of Ghost Rider Canyon. Look for a cammo painted peanut butter jar.

Note: Please do not enter the area from the church property below the cache. It is far more scenic to enter from the cross area at the summit.

Enjoy the view,
Ruscal and Birdlegs
