X-File#13523120488-
March 13,1864
Agent in charge: Bill Dees
Subject: Alien Interaction with Confederate Forces at
Ocean Pond
Preliminary Findings: Florida was not considered of any stragentic importance until the Union Forces heard strange rumors the Confederate Forces were about to recieve assistance from outside this world.
Upon reciept of this information Major General Quincy Gilmore Commander of the Union Army's Dept. of the South, wrote the order on Jan 31, 1864, that the South could not recieve this aid at all costs.
So under the guise of a quest to procur an outlet for cotton, lumber, and timber, to stop the Southern supply of beef, and to obtain recruits for the colored regiments, General Gilmore headed to Jacksonville to occupy Northeast Florida. General Gilmore placed Brig. General Truman Seymour in actual command of the operation.
The Confederate troops in Florida had few resources to stop the Union invasion following Union successes in Tennessee in early 1862. So by early 1864, only a few poorly equipped units with little battle experience were left in Florida. So when Brigadier General Joseph Finegan was approached by a strange emmissary he demanded proof of their technology and proof of who they claimed to be.
So at the time of the landing of the Federal troops, General Finegan had approx. 1500 troops to defend his positions. The Confederate reinforcement movements were hampered by no direct link between the troops in
South Carolina and Georgia and the battlefields in Florida. It was agreed that the new friends of the Confederacy would transport the troops to the South.
As the reinforcements came, a Confederate rearguard fought a number of skirmishes in an attemt to delay and harass the Union invaders. So by the morning of Feb. 20th a tired and beleagured force of Union troops met a force of fresh Confederate soilders at the Battle of Olustee. There the Union forces recieved a stinging defeat. At the end of the day the Union had suffered around 2,000 casualties. As news of the battle and the supplied documents were being transported to General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard the Comander of the Dept of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, the courier was captured by the retreating Union forces.
After this decisive battle no further assistance or contact was provided by the Aliens, but their landing base was secure. That brings us to today and this unresolved
X-File. From all appearances the file has been left been left unopened to date in an attempt to avoid the truth. The cover up continues but The Federation has found the SECRET base from which the Alien Crafts launched for this decisive battle. By completing the 2 caches listed above you will find the landing site and a container of artifacts left behind to log their presence among us.
Cache seekers should read this cache page for background information on this cache. The history that is told within is not the offical story told or taught in our schools. This version of history and the veracity of it's truth are buried so deeply in the X-Files only you can be the judge of it. The Fedeartion makes no claim to it's truth or our belief of it. We are only bringing it to you so you can judge for yourslf and then determine. We only ask that you keep in mind "The Truth is Out There."
