There's an out-of-the-way park in Excelsior known as 'Excelsior Parkland.' It had been used in recent years for an ice rink, but as interest in the outdoor facility dried up, so did the city's money for it. There's a narrow paved path through part of it, but it doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose. At some point the city is going to pave a new six-foot loop path in the park for inline skating. It won't be a huge path, about 1/3-mile around, but it's better than what's going on at the park now, and that's next to nothing. There's a community garden area in the park, and that's about all the activity you see there.
The park is easy to find, as the cache should likewise be. The biggest challenge, avoiding the souvenirs the geese left behind.
The container: an Altoids-style tin. Inside the tin are log sheets, but please limit your entry to date and name if you sign the log, and bring your own writing instrument! The tin is in a plastic bag to keep it from getting wet and rusty. Please let me know if the bag needs replacment. Make sure to hide it as well as you found it. (While I provide a hint, you really shouldn't need it.)
Written inside the tin is the name of a fictional character. E-mail me the name of this fictional character to receive credit for your find. Please don't make reference to the source of this fictional character in your post. (Parents may need to explain to their children who this fictional character is.) And make sure to research some of the other nearby caches if you're new to the area.
HAPPY HUNTING!
