Geocache Description:

A quick easy micro in the area that used to be Cedar City, Missouri

By looking at the topo map of this area (obviously old info), you might think you're about to do an urban cache in the city of Cedar Creek, Missouri. (The cache location is shown on the topo map just below the 'a' in Cedar.) Even MapQuest shows Cedar City as still being there.

However, Cedar City was a victim of the great flood of 1993. Most all of the buildings have since been torn down and it's residents moved to higher ground. It's since been annexed by Jefferson City which lies directly south across the Missouri River and most of what used to be Cedar City is now part of North Jefferson City Park.

You are looking for an altoids tin that blends in with the surroundings, yet is very obvious to an intelligent cacher like yourself. It's very easy to get to and isn't far from the park's Katy Trail spur. To help keep it in it's hiding spot, it's attached with velcro. Please be careful removing the tin and make sure it's securely back in place after you sign the log. There is room for itty bitty stuff to trade.

This cache falls with the quidelines of Jefferson City's Parks and Recreation's gecocaching policies. Per their request, please indicate your hometown in your online log.
