How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Cache is .31 mile from asphalt. Very reminiscent of the nearby 'Johns Overlook' cache. This cache makes 5 in the nearby area so come on up and find them and a beautiful wilderness area!

Cache is now a 30cal. ammo can after muggles burnt the first hiding spot. No, is now a 50cal. ammo can after muggles burned its hiding spot again.

On the trek you will pass by some spots where, because of its natural beauty and pinnacle, people gather at what I remember as Rock Altars. Each rock represents a particular person's burden he has brought and as the hymn goes, you "Leave it there". Onward you will see where some people have gone out of their way (way way out of the way!) to dump carpet tiles and a washing machine or two...sigh.

On a clear day, the view is surely something to see. I used to bring my telescope up here to be out of the city lights...enjoy!

** Note, if you park at the tiptop of the mountain road, just where it makes the curve, I've been told there is a NGS Benchmark in that area, if you go after those little boogers. Get 2 different loggable caches in one trip!

As of January 1st 2009, all of my caches will be exempt from logging for challenges, games, series or other bookmarked nonsense dragging down the sport. I will delete any finds associated with this.
