Just a short jaunt down an old road, easy to find and a great place to visit
A little out of the way place to visit. You can drive almost to the exact location during the summer, but it is located just off the snowmobile trail, so during the winter it can be a long hike, or a short ride, depending on your mode of transportation. It is a rocky and brushy area, but you will not have to travel far. We wanted to make this one an easy one to find.
We hike Scouts down here every Wednesday during the summer to dunk their heads in some cool clear water. Being a former logging community, you will find signs of that history if you look close along the creek, including the fact that where the bridge is now was once a dam, hence the road name you came in on.
The cache is camoflaged and well hidden due to the foot traffic and the fisherman in the area. It has proven to fool all but the most serious of searchers. We averaged out the GPS coordinates, so they are almost exact. It's right there if you look for it, trust your GPS, but please, make it just as hard for the next cacher, we can't make it too easy, (grin), there are enough of those caches out there....(hint - eat your carrots)
If you time your visit to the local rainfall, you will find a roaring creek that can be a little loud on sensitive ears. Please sign in on the log and enjoy the area. If you feel ambitious or lucky, there is local legend about precious metals along the creek!!!
