A Community Center is the focal point of this 2.5-acre community
park located at the north perimeter of the Brevard Community
College Cocoa campus. Known as Tiger Den, the gymnasium and small
activity rooms make it a popular site for basketball, special
interest activities and summer day camp. The park grounds include a
half basketball court and 2 lighted sand volleyball courts, a
playground and a small pavilion. Additionally, a 1-mile paved
nature trail around Clear Lake extends from Travis Park to the
Brevard Museum.
The posted coordinates are for the most advantageous parking
area.
This multi-cache has 3 stages. The coordinates for the first
stage are N 28 23.128 W 080 45.710 When you get to this area you
are looking for something that will supply you with the information
you need for the last three digits of both the North and West
coordinates for the second stage. It is NOT visible from the paved
path, but is in plain sight when you are in the correct area. Just
use your powers of observation to locate the numbers for the
coordinates. You will definitely recognize them when you see
them.
From here, you will locate the second stage of the cache. The
information you need is visible from the paved path but unless your
eyes are very keen, you will need to leave the path to retrieve the
info. At no time will you need to bushwhack. Again, the last three
digits for both sets of coordinates will be revealed at this
location.
Now you are seeking the final cache. The container is a 1 gallon
pretzel jar covered in camo. It is located off the paved path about
35'. You still will NOT need to (nor should you) bushwhack.
The cache is dedicated to Fire/Rescue teams all over. It has
lots of fire/rescue action figures, all sorts of fire/rescue
vehicles, a flashlight, a first aid kit, some flag decals, and
other related items. It is packed!
There are a couple of First To Find items: (1) Carabiner
flashlight and (1) Carabiner compass I also dropped off the MARS
Rover TB to continue on its journey. There were very few bugs when
I place this, but I am sure that mosquitoes can be a hazard at
times. Be very careful about brushing up against trees and shrubs
unnecessarily - I am the proud owner of four new chigger bites to
show for my efforts. Enjoy!
