Paddler's Paradise is Elbow Lake, which is also where the cache is located. Paddling the Bird River is a treat in itself but the destination is worth it!
After having returned from my first trip to this area, I have found in Manitoba what the mountains had offered when I was living there. This is truely a great area for backcountry lovers. The scenery reminds us how beautiful the Canadian Shield can be and the fishing is just as great. I know of at least one 10+ pound pike that would challenge even the experienced. For this cache, you must make the effort to explore this fine area but you will be rewarded in more than bagging a cache. Overlooking the island in the center of the lake and across from the Inukshuk is where it can be found. A good point to start is on the end of the peninsula that breaks up the lake. Just follow up the rock for 125 meters or so. Under the branches of a juniper bush and in a small nook is a peanut butter jar with a few odds and ends.
