Talley camp is a traditional cache on some land owned by Erie County. It is east of the village of East Aurora. To get to the parking area take Rt. 20a to Rt. 78, turn right on Hunter Creek Rd, pass the bridge and the entrance is the second drive on the right. (Parking 42d 45.447 N 078d 31.964 W). This drive is rough, so drive carefully.
The land is surrounded by private property. Please respect the rights of the landowners and stay on the trail. The cache can be found about 130 feet from the trail.
The first part of the trail from the parking area is the worst part of this trek. It’s long and steep, but the remainder of the trail is better. Several parts of the trail can be muddy in wet weather, plan accordingly. Biking is a favorite activity at Hunters Creek.
If you have the time after finding the cache explore the other features of this beautiful area. You’ll find large growth forest, streams and cliffs. There are several other caches on the property also.
