A biking cache along the scenic Farmington River.
My kids have discovered these new electronic gizmos that accept a tiny chip with a digital recording to play music. The recordings are called *Hit Clips*, and this cache is dedicated to trading these recordings. If you don't have a *Hit Clip* to trade, please consider trading for one of the other items in the cache.
The coordinates above are for an informational sign located in the center of historic Collinsville. You can park in the lots near the sign. To begin your quest, look at the pictures on the sign and answer the following question:
A 4th of July celebration is pictured - what year did the celebration occur?
The last digit of the year will give you the coordinates to the final cache:
N41 46° *83 W72° 55.140 - just replace the * with the number from the sign.
You have two options to reach the final cache. There is a Greenway parking area located near the final cache, or you can ride your bike from Collinsville along the Farmington River to the cache. The ride is very easy, and the views along the river are worth the trip. The ice cream at the deli in Collinsville is very popular with my kids, and makes a good after-ride stop. The entire ride is 5 miles round trip. I hope your family enjoys this area as much as we do.
