groundhog123: Penguin is correct. I recently found out someone purchased this property with the intent of building a home on this hill overlooking the lake. Unfortunately, with no other decent place nearby to hide a cache, I will have to permanentley disable this one. Thanks to everyone who made an effort to find this cache. It was a joy reading the logs and checking out the photos.

Geocache Description:

This spot reminds me more of places I have hiked in Arkansas and Oklahoma than east Texas. The hike is only a short one but is fairly steep. There are several different routes up the hill. I find the easiest approach is from the north side next to edge of the lake. Spend a little time up there and enjoy the scenic views of the lake.

Important information! Currently, the bridge near this cache is being rebuilt and is closed. The bridge has been removed and the cache cannot be accessed from the west. The only way to approach this cache is along the FM road from the east or from the county road along the east side of the lake. You will have to park at the barricade and walk a short distance. I am not sure how long this will last and I know it will be an inconvenience. I do not want to temporarily disable the cache due to the fact that it can still be accessed. It will just be a little more inconvenient to do so.

There is also Lake Hawkins County Park on the south side of the lake with nice camping areas and a swimming beach. (visit link)

Please rehide cache container very well. There is a lot of muggle activity in this area and I have already lost 2 caches in this spot.
