The Travel Bug Family

This is my Family of travel bugs. We don’t have to stay together but hope we run into each other on our travels. Each one has a little different idea about where it wants to go, but there again, as long as they are moving it is ok. I also included some non-family members (Travel Bugs that is) that I have had for too long. There is some more stuff in the cache for trading too, so you don’t have to have a travel bug to hunt for this cache. And you don't have to trade a travel bug for a travel bug. If you don't have anything, just leave a twenty dollar bill in the cache and let me know about it. (Just kidding)

Where the cache is located, is the site of the yearly event “A Day to Remember: Colonial Times Encampment. The event was selected as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events in 2000. It has recently been listed as part of the Heritage Corridor Tour. Twelve years ago it was an overgrown, swampy, area used as a dumping site by the city. A non –profit Organization called Olde Towne Preservation Association (OTPA) is responsible for the development of the park. OTPA helps preserve the heritage and character of North Augusta and surrounding area. The City of North Augusta partnered with OTPA to develop the Living History Park.

The park represents North Augusta and the surrounding area in the 1716-1785 era, a period during which this area played a vital role in development of the colonies, through the Indian trade. The Encampment brings to life the every day, living history for children and adults alike. There will be activities and demostrations from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2003 and from 10:00 am until 3:30 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2003. Read about the park and the Encampment at (visit link)

Watch for people when you find and replace the cache. There is a fair amount of traffic in this park.
