Waco's First Geocaching Event, Woodway Park. Oct. 18, 2003
PLACE. Pavillion #2 in Woodway Park at Lake Waco.
If the pavillion gets snatched out from under us we will be at the nearby tables.
DATE & TIME. 10/18/03 Lunch served at Noon. Stay as late as you like.
This is the first official gathering of the Waco Area Geocachers! Our primary objective is a simple but important one: To provide an event where our local cachers can meet and greet one another. Lets put faces with the names we use on the internet. There are a lot of new cachers in the area and an event like this will enable us to share our questions and answers about the sport that we all love.
Though this event has a local flavor, We would like to extend an invitation to geocachers from all areas to attend. So you big city types, come on down and put a Waco spin on caching for the day.
Woodway park is home to several caches already. At least 5 within walking distance of the pavillion. The park immenities include: Grills, Picnic Tables, Playground Areas, 18 Hole Frisbee (Disc) Golf Course, Excellent views and fishing. Unfortunately The Restroom facilities are temporarily closed for repairs; but don't worry...... there are "PortaPottys" on site.
We will have Hot Dogs on the Grill for lunch! Please bring your own beverage of choice.
Also, Anyone who wants to bring anything is welcome to.
If you have any lawn chairs please bring them. We hope to have a big crowd!
If possible; please let us know if you'll be able to attend so we can get an idea on how much food to have on hand. Just post a note to let us know.
