This cache is on the hill to the south of Vernon Resevoir. Road up to the resevoir is open all year round, but snow may hinder travel because it is not plowed during the winter.
We named this cache Mud Lake Overlook, because Vernon Resevior is so low right now, that there are more areas of mud /dried mud than the area covered by the lake. (See the photo.) The cache is in a medium size tupperware container. The hike to it is somewhat steep but the elevation gain is less than 200 feet and you can drive to within 600 feet of the cache.
