Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden near the NSPC dam at Coon Pond.

Turn right off highway 103 a few kilometers past exit 5 (coming from Halifax) just after you cross a small bridge with a lake on your left and a small hydro-electric power generation plant on your right.

From here there are a number of ways to get to the cache. The easiest way is to park at UTM 20T 428769E 4951331N. (Be sure not to block access to the power plant.) From here, walk past the rock barricade and continue straight a short distance later when you come to the gravel road. (Note that there is a no trespassing sign here. I believe the sign is intended to keep people from walking down towards the power plant, however, there are other ways to get to the cache if you don't want to go this way.) Follow the road as it ascends the hill alongside the large wooden pipe that the water travels through to reach the generating station. Watch out for leaks! At the top of the hill is Coon Pond.

If you visit this spot more than once, there is a good chance that the water level in the pond will be different. When very low, there are lots of old stumps that can be seen.

The cache (a round rubbermade container) is in the woods northwest of the dam.
