Geocache Description:

We are placing more caches in Henry Cowell State Park to raise both the number of caches in this park and to attract more cachers to this beautiful park.

This is a beautiful hike down to the San Lorenzo River and a spot that not many go to because it's a little steeper than most of the trails in this park. The trail is plenty wide and well-worn with little-to-no Poison Oak to be found. This trail is a favorite of local equestrians and they have the right of way but they won't be moving very quickly through here and you'll have no trouble stepping aside should you come across one.
If you are hitting other caches in the park you would do well to use the posted parking spots to get to this one. At many times during the year you can cross the river from the other side at shin-level to get this cache but the river does move very well in the winter months. Beware.

If you lose signal near the cache site just head down by the water to regain it and work back up to it or eyeball the final distance.
You do not have to leave the trail for this cache so please don't.
Look for good hiding spots before tearing anything up please. You won't need to damage ANYTHING to find this one. Please re-hide it just like you found it due to it's proximity to the trail.

There are two great places to park to hit a bunch of caches in this park. One is free and one is not.
Coords for free parking are: 37º 00.880 / 122º 02.070. Paid lot is at 37º 02.405 / 122º 03.812.
Park hours are 6am - Sunset.

This cache is dog-on-leash and kid friendly (with caveats) but no bikes are allowed on the trail that leads directly to this cache. The rating is based on a point of entry from Pipeline Road/Trail. The trail switch-backs a number of times and is a little steep on the way back up. You'll want to stop and rest a few times if you have kids (and maybe even if you don't).
