Apalachin Marsh Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sapience Trek: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This is a fairly short hike to an easy find.

Have you ever wanted to hide and seek a geocache in the median of an interstate? Well, I did! I dare say not too many people have been to this spot, although many pass by it every day. This is called the Apalachin Marsh, part of the Waterman Center system of trails. You'll have to park on Route 434 in Apalachin, about 0.4 miles west of Hilton Road to start. You will see a gap in the fence - go through that and under Route 17/Interstate 86. You will now be between the eastbound and westbound lanes! If you take the yellow trail you will get close to the cache. Take a minute to go to the western end of the trail and onto the walkway to the duck blind to get the best view of the marsh.
