This cache is geared towards kids and the driving force to hide it was my two young geocachers. They wanted to hide one close to home in familiar territory.
When we first moved to the area we used to cut through this short fire road to get to Rasmussen Park. At the time there was some high grass and I would tell the kids to watch out for snakes. Ever since then they have referred to it as the “Snake Park”. Despite the name, we have only ever seen one small garter snake.
I love to take my kids geocaching (plus it insures that I get ample time to go do some more challenging ones myself), but sometimes I feel that there aren’t enough in the area where both the terrain is accessible for them and that they will truly enjoy “caching” in. So if anyone else is experiencing some of the same thoughts, this cache should be attractive to you (& your kids). I am going to do some housekeeping to keep the items inside ones that would be attractive to children 10 and under. Feel free to leave whatever you would like, just don’t be offended or take it personally if I swap out the items at a later date.
The cache is in a 3-liter tupperware container placed inside a black garbage bag. You can access it either via Mira Loma Drive or Meder Road to Auburn Hills to Bridgeport. The latter is the shorter and easier route, however you will not go directly through the park. Watch out for local residents on dirtbikes or small ATV’s. If you encrypt the hint, the difficulty drops to a one because it’s practically a dead giveaway.
No bushwhacking necessary on this one! Stay on the trails and you'll end up within 50 feet of the cache
