The Marin Peace Points are a set of seven beautiful and varied
locations around Marin County. Each reveals a different kind of
peace, from urban to very remote, from deep forest to sunny
hillside to windswept peak. When you’ve visited them all, a
unifying form will be revealed that truly represents the spirit of
this beautiful county. But the road to true peace is never easy. To
find it, you’ll have to go to all seven Peace Points in order. Each
has clues to find the next. While Peace Point One is easy to get
to, some of the others are more strenuous and Peace Point Seven is
far from any trails.

This is the trail head for the Big Rock Trail. This is a long
steep climb, but the views are worth it. You can take a mountain
bike all the way. Dogs on leashes okay. It’s about two miles each
way, 1100’ of elevation gain. It took me 90 minutes going up, an
hour coming down. Best done not on the hottest days. This point was
supposed to be further west, but that turned out to be private
land, so the cache is just inside the Open Space District land. The
cache is a clear Ziploc container, 11”x7”x3”, with a blue top.
Contents: log, pen, camera, Furby travel bug from Lumber Baron's
Roost, Leora Salo tape from City Cache,Woody Woodpecker cards from
San Rafael Hill and frogman from San Rafael Hill, slinky, and a
mini-pig.
